I think I’m pretty close to the next batch of pages to ink, The boss has said that the new project gets under way soon. Good, I say because even tho I like free time, and sometimes I do stuff and sometimes I do nothin’ I’m obviously happiest when I’m in the ink.

But, I did decide that I would sit down and write a post no matter what. Don’t we all get great posts in our heads during the day, or driving, or when we’re in bed or the shower? And don’t we never get around to posting? so, since I hope the next thing I post is either ink or art I’ll give a little update.

Still at the day job although I really did think  I’d be out by know. But my good friend Sunday’s moon points out that the corporate machine can take a long time before it’s ready to spit you out. I’ve been job hunting but the problem is that I don’t have the time to interview while I still have a job. Easier if I were unemployed. I’ve gotten some offers but haven’t taken them yet. One was a 3 to midnight shift. no thanks. And another would have doubled my commute time. So even tho they’re the sort of thing I might have accepted if I had no job, for now I’ll wait. But I really do hate the job and over time it will catch up to me in my performance. If  it’s self-sabotage then it’s painfully slow self sabotage.

As I get older, rather than accepting that compromise is a part of life, I feel more and more like compromise is so foolish, in life, in work, anything. I tend to be selfish, or self focused in a lot of things and I have decided that an office job can be a useful thing. the pay is good and so are the bene’s. I don’t use benefits too often, but secret spouse does and for her I will suffer a spiritless office job.

But hey, I’m still pretty good at goofin off and distracting myself. I’ve been online with the Xbox a lot lately, using it to watch my instant Netflix queue as well as game like crazy. playing FEAR2 if you’re curious. I’ve been reading a lot of Zombie fiction from publishers like Permuted Press. Still listening to lots of old time radio and watching all my favorite Horror Hosts on line, like Count Gore deVol and Karlos Borloff’s Monster Madhouse.

So summer is mostly good, I’ve had hot dogs from hot dog places, made it to the Drive in theater once so far.

Still, every day at the office is like little creatures chewing their way thru my ears into my brainpan. and that gets old real quick.

hurry up with those new comic book pages you people at Hardway, I’ll be stewing in my own juices soon!
